01-24-03 Working with Jesse on new Tux Typing 2.0 logo. I am also working on the new Tux Typing 2.0 website, but not on that desktop.
01-03-03 A long gap between screenshots, because things haven't changed much! Still using Tin as my theme for IceWM. Guess I'm quite boring! Anyway, you can see I'm working in Gimp on a theme for this website (the Minty Fresh theme!) I also am chatting with Jesse and Calvin from Tux4Kids. Also listenning to a new CD that was an Xmas gift from my bro-in-law, Alex. Note, this screenshot has been altered (after taking the shot, I noticed we were discussing some t4k admin items that should not be blasted across the net in my screenshot ;-)
07-30-02 We've recently been given a generous donation of an HP NetSever over at Tux4Kids. This system is not quite powerful enough to do much other than serve as a dev file server and as a backup server, so I have it sitting behind a firewall and have been setting it up to backup all of our sites, as well as perform basic file-maintenance (such as making daily CVS snapshots). I called the system Pilot, after the Pilot on Farscape because this little box will be doing all the laborious and tedious tasks that we don't want to do ourselves. Here is a screenshot of my desktop as I interface with Pilot.
03-29-02 This is a tribute back to my first Linux screenshot I took several years ago. In that shot I was running a variety of games to show-off that I could do it in Linux. Well, in this shot I am running Unreal Tournament for Linux as well as Unreal I on Linux using WINE just to show-off that I can do it ;-)
02-23-02 Just trying to solve my procmail+razor problems on OpenProject's Debian IRC channel, and wound up helping others more than solving my problems ;-) The screen got real busy, and I took a snap. Here it is! If interested, my .icewm/preferences file can be found here and my .icewm/toolbar file can be found here.
02-02-02 Hey waitaminute! Isn't that Monster's INC.? What the?! Isn't that still in theaters at the time this screenshot was made? Hmmm.... I must've faked it ;-) The IceWM theme is "Tin", and I've become quite smitten with it lately. I have it (and my custom .icewm/preferences and .icewm/toolbar) on both my desktop and my laptop. I've been using it like this for over a month now (looking at how often I change the way my desktop looks, that's saying a lot!)
11-07-01 ACK! Oh no, Sam's using Windows XP!! Well... perhaps not. But I am using IceWM with the XP theme. I love making my OS act like it's some other OS ;-)
10-30-01 Needed to do some troubleshooting of TuxReader in IceWM. I realized I hated the Debian default setup for IceWM, so I tweaked my own $HOME/.icewm config to ensure I would be greated with what I want whenever I need to use IceWM. Kind of liked the look (and the XMMS MegaMan theme), so I took a snap. The IceWM theme is BlueHeart. |

10-31-01 Wha?! Yes that's right, this is a Win2k screenshot. I am back working at the U of A Physics Dept. and my job involves a great deal of Windows administrative stuff (I do some Linux and Unix stuff, but primarily when setting up dual boot machines). So, I need Windows... Can't be helped... However, you will notice that my Win2k box acts very much like a *nix box. I have a desktop pager, sloppy mouse focus, a bunch of other *nix-like tweaks, and even The Gimp for Windows ;-) |
