(not so) FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. What's with the picture of the "Day Old" baby with a steaming steak cut from its stomach and laying to the side?
As Mr. Hobson correctly stated in the Friday, Oct. 29th, 1999 issue of Linux Today,2. If the current strip archive is called "Day Old", then why is the strip of the day not a day old?The cut up figure is "D.B." (as in Dough Boy).So the figure was not a dead day old baby.... the caption "Day Old" actually refers to the strip archive, which may or may not be a day old.The object next to the body is D.B.'s chef's hat.
They were pretty clear to me even without the "cast of
characters" briefing.Sorry to disappoint you.... but other than a couple of rejected strips, I've not drawn many hurt babies...
(Granted, a dead baby steak would be awful tender...)
Well... it might be!3. Is this a Linux and Open Source related strip?Actually, I call them "Day Old" to cover my ass in case I forget to update the site one day!
Yes.4. Is this a Science and Technology related strip?
Yes.5. I thought you said it was a Linux and Open Source related strip?
What...... it can't be both? Damn.... I didn't know that... I guess I'll have to start thinking more narrowly.6. If this is a Linux/Open Source related comic strip.... why are so many strips in the archive unrelated to Linux/Open Source?Maybe I'll just start making a daily comic strip about cooking dead babies......
Well, that's a fair question. Actually, my first Linux related comic strip was October 12th, 1998. I did an entire week of them. They were not received well, and so I gave up making more Linux comics. Then, under a year later, I found that there was a fairly large group of Linux users on the internet linked to these comics. On a whim, I did some more Linux comics, and they were received very well... since then my site stats of shot up, and I've decided to make my comic have more of a Linux focus.7. What are your site statistics?
Take a look at them here.
