Nothing here... sorry...
|
This is just a quick page to give those interrested an idea of what is being worked on with this title.
The game, Nodin Grand will be free software, distributed under the GNU GPL. It will be a very unique game as, to
the best of my knowledge, nothing quite like it has been done before (though I could easily be wrong ;). Since it is
fairly unique, you will forgive me if I adopt the obnoxious practice of the proprietary software world of teasing the
public with images and screenshots from the game.... without actually explaining what the game is! ;)
I am sorry that I am doing this, but I feel I must....
Anyway, here are some images from the game. One of the things that make this game unique will be its graphics, which
should be quite impressive for an open-source game. The graphics have been hand-drawn, scanned in, and then
manipulated in the Gimp (naturally). The images here are fairly low-quality peices of shlock which are poorly rendered to
make them more comfortable for web viewing. If you would like to see an example of what the images look like, feel free
to download a Gimp source code file here.
Please bear in mind that this is a work in progress, and the actually images in the game may not be these (though that
isn't likely). Also, until I come up with a better license for these images, just consider them to be copyrighted, 2000,
by Samuel Hart (all rights reserved). (If anyone would care to help me come up with a license, feel free to contact me at
criswell@xmission.com. What I want to do is allow the images to be freely distributed
for free software [comercial or otherwise] but not be permitted in proprietary software. I.e., the images can be used and
reused in all manner of open-source games and distributions, but company X with video game Y cannot lift these images for
their use in their game...)
In a few weeks, I hope to have enough of a game to test out with other players (I guess I can say that it will be
networkable and multiplayer).... so if anyone would like to help me test it out (heck, even code it) please let me
know...
