Set the debugging of your blockip "on" and run the test script like this:
$ blockiptest 2> ~/results
Then review the results file and check the mail of the person you are sending the alert to. You should get a message roughly like this one:
From: root <root@mail.geekcomix.com>
To: sam@mail.geekcomix.com
Subject: DENYnew/cracker.com/Zservice?/111.222.33.44/U=joe
Date: Sat, 21 Jun 2003 02:42:04 +0000 (UTC)
Automatically locked out of all: host=cracker.com
IP=111.222.33.44\n MAC=
Test email input to blockip
If you do not, you may get a failure like this one:
